Adding INTEGRAL to the third interplanetary network
Abstract
The BGO anticoincidence system of the INTEGRAL spectrometer (SPI-ACS) presents a cross-sectional area of up to 5200 square centimeters for gamma-rays of energy 80 keV and above. It has been equipped with a trigger to take high time resolution (50 ms) data when a gamma-ray burst occurs. We have been utilizing these data as part of the third interplanetary network of GRB detectors, which also includes the Ulysses, Mars Odyssey, RHESSI, and Wind spacecraft. We have detected and localized numerous bursts, including some which also localized by IBIS, and others which have IPN-only localizations. We will review some of the data obtained to date and discuss the unique properties which INTEGRAL brings to the IPN.
